Brett Auttonberry
Music teacher turned Army Ranger turned window craftsman. I earned a degree in percussion & voice, then served as a Parachute Rigger with 1/75th Ranger Battalion — Airborne qualified, 36 jumps. Precision means something different when someone's life depends on how you fold. After the Army, I drove a hand-painted '74 VW Kombi named Gumby from Savannah to Santa Monica and spent years restoring vintage cars, taking art classes, & making things with my hands. I bought an 1886 Acadian Cottage in Slaughter, LA in 2007 — named her Serenity Cottage. When she burned in January 2026, I trained under Steve Quillian in Uvalde, TX and learned historic window restoration from the wood up. Now I'm rebuilding her windows from her own 140-year-old cypress. This work shouldn't be reserved for deep pockets. If a grandmother can stay warm in winter because someone did the work right and kept it affordable, that's the whole point.
