Join us for the first Annual General Meeting of the Window Preservation Alliance. Held in conjunction with the
Historic Homes Workshop, this event is being held Friday, February 19, 2016 at the workshop of
Wood Window Makeover in Tampa, Florida.
This day long event will provide a great opportunity to meet your fellow window restorers and talk shop. A series of guided discussions will take place on issues like estimating, managing EPA and OSHA regulations, and growing a business.
A presentation on the past and future of the Window Preservation Alliance will be presented at the luncheon meeting, as well as election of Board members.
The First Glaze-A-Palooza Contest:
Think you are good at window glazing? Wanna prove it? Bring your putty knife and lay it down. For this event contestants will be provided with a new single lite sash, new glass cut to fit the sash, Sarco Type M putty, a putty knife, triangle glazing points, whiting and a whiting brush. When the announcer says go it’s time to glaze that sash! Contestants will be judged on speed, quality, and style.
We are lining up some high profile judges and hoping to get good media coverage for this event. We are also lining up some sponsors to make the prizes (beyond just bragging rights as best glazier in the US) worth competing for.
The number of contestants is limited to twelve. Contestants do not have to be members of the Window Preservation Alliance but it is strongly encouraged. Enter contestants name on the event registration form.
